Beautiful Valleys of Aosta

Val d’Aosta is by far the smallest region of Italy, tucked on the border with France and Switzerland. Lying to the north-west of Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta region is surrounded by huge mountains. Aosta is the capital city of this region. To the north towards Switzerland is a sequence of about 40 Alps known as the Pennine Alps to which Cervino, Monte Rosa and Monte Bianco belong.
